Animations/Motion GFX

These are examples of motion graphics that I have made for newscasts on 3 television news stations.

Created with After Effects and Ross XPression
Created to push to a redesigned news app. The graphics were created using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects, then imported into Ross XPression for controlled playback during newscasts on two local TV stations.
Creation process and how it was used in Ross XPression can be found below the video
Creation Process
I started with a cut out of an iPhone and created several solids in After Effects to use as alpha masks.

I used various screenshots and screen recordings of the app to ensure the app animations were the consistent with the animated full screen I created.

I then nested the compositions of the iPhone screen animations in the main composition.
I keyframed the iPhone below the bottom of the screen and had it move upward, using an easy ease to slow the momentum of the phone at the end.

After the iPhone composition reached the top point. I had it move to the right and had the news app logo move to the right from behind it.

I rendered the animation with alpha and no background, used the XPression video converter and imported it into the Xpression project.

I created a new scene and placed the video over the station's news background.

Using the scene director, I put a pause event at the beginning so the full screen could be loaded in Ross OverDrive without the entire animation playing.

Once the newscast director uses the channel advance command again, the animation plays in full and the background continuously loops behind it.
